Cookie Crazed Frenzy

Girl Scout cookies.

It’s what’s for dinner.

And breakfast.

Oh, and lunch, too.

Apparently.

Such is the unfortunate challenge when you find yourself with eight boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

Yeah.

You read that right.

Eight boxes.

Of cookies.

Yikes.

Last Saturday while I was at work, a well-meaning family member decided to support our local Girl Scout troop and buy some cookies.

And by some, I mean two boxes each of Thin Mints and Trefoils.

Along with Samoas, Tagalongs, Savannah Smiles, and Rah-Rah Raisins.

We aren’t typically prone to such extravagant overindulgence of that nature.

Unless it’s Halloween, when there’s no escaping the sweet temptation.

At any rate, just shy of one week later, we are down to…

Exactly one box of gluten-free Toffee-tastic cookies that we’d somehow received in place of the Rah-Rah Raisins.

Let’s just say, those toffee cookies aren’t worthy of any rah-rah-ing.

Not all cookies are equal.

Sorry, but no.

A cookie is a cookie is…

Sooo not a cookie.

Sad but true.

Thin Mints top the hierarchy, hands down.

But we already devoured our two boxes of Thin Mints.

Ooh!

Maybe we could go door to door, asking to buy leftover cookies from random neighbors?

Nah.

That might be weird.

Or perhaps someone out there might want to trade a box of Thin Mints for some yummy gluten-free Toffee-(so not)tastic?

No?

Oh, Thin Mints.

I miss you already.

Until we meet again…

~Happy Friday, friends! Did anyone else indulge in a box (or ten) of Girl Scout cookies this year? If so, which one is your favorite? Have a great weekend!~

  1. I think I love so many flavors of Girl Scout cookies! Samoas, Tagalongs, Thin Mints… I can never decide which I like best…so I sample each (again and again)in the name of discovery. 🙂

    • Exactly! When faced with the quandary of trying to decide which flavor is truly the best, the only rational thing to do is sample each one repeatedly, until you’ve eaten them all. And since you’ll still be undecided about a clear favorite, it’ll probably be necessary to repeat the process all over again the following year. 😆

  2. I know my weaknesses. I’m not to “manly” to admit it. When I hear the girl scout cookie mobile heading my way, I reach into my wallet and pull out what I consider a quality DONATION. I open my front door just wide enough to extend my arm with currency in hand while saying through the crevice, “thank you for your hard work; feel free to consume any cookies you and your family choose equaling the value of my contribution.”

I have learned ANY deviation from this process results in massive consumption of girl scout cookies (followed by repeat orders for more!! 🙂 )

  3. Never eaten a Girl Scout cookie before. Yes, you heard that right. Never. When it comes to cookies… make them chocolate chip and burn them please! My Mom made me some like that just a couple days ago. She knows my tastes very well, obviously…

  4. The Keebler Elves make some pretty fine Girl Scout knock-offs, if you’re left high and dry. Around here, Girl Scouts solicit their wares in the entryways of stores and such. I think they even have an iPhone that takes credit cards. They cover the whole season from New Year’s resolutions to Lent. It is possible to eat a whole sleeve of Thin Mints in one sitting… don’t ask me how I know that. 🙂

    • I can’t imagine you could possibly be speaking from experience! Surely you jest. Who eats a sleeve of cookies in one sitting? I mean, aren’t you supposed to devour the contents of the entire box in one sitting? No? Hmm. Um… It’s not like I know anybody who does that… Really. 😂😂😂

  5. We don’t have this Girl Guide going-around-the-houses-selling-cookies tradition in the UK. I learnt of it from that episode of Friends when Chandler broke a Guide’s leg.

  6. Too funny Angelica! I totally understand…I too love the Thin Mints. In fact, every time my co-worker and her daughters approach me I always tell them “You don’t have to tell me what you’re selling, I just want my five boxes of Thin Mints please.”

  7. Ha ha ha! I love that graphic. Unfortunately (or fortunately? 🙂 ), I don’t know anyone who has kids selling girl scout cookies. I hear you on the Thin Mints – have you ever tried them in the freezer? Pretty awesome.

Have a wonderful weekend. Hope it’s full of laughs and love and joy. Blessings, Debbie
