Dog Days of Summer Break

I’m boooorrred!!!

Go walk the dog.

But it’s too hot!!!

Fine. Read a book.

What is this, some kind of punishment?

Take a walk to the pool and go for a swim.

No. I don’t feel like getting wet.

Okay, then. Clean your room.

What?!? Why?

And that was only day three of summer break.

It’s hard to be a kid.

There’s never anything fun to do.

But somehow, all your friends are doing fun things.

Without you.

You know so.

Because it’s all right there on Snapchat.

And so the only plausible way to entertain yourself is to torment the dog.

I mean, teach the dog new tricks.

Like how to eat his doggie treat while pretending to be the civilized human being that he clearly is not.

At a table.

While sitting in a chair.

Because how could that be a bad idea?

Oh, right.

It’s gonna be a long summer…

Is this your idea of a good time? Seriously? Go back to school, you sadistic kids!

~Happy Friday, friends! Isn’t summertime the best? Hope you all have a great weekend!~

  1. We haven’t “officially” hit summertime. School end’s on Wednesday, but the days leading up are shortened and attendance is if you have finals to take. Not looking forward to boredom syndrome!!

  2. Aww that’s great! You are so funny. The pics of your dog are priceless. 🙂
Good to be back. Hope you are doing great. Feel free to contribute to #ForgivingFridays if you want to (forgiveness dog, anyone? 🙂 )
    Blessings to you,
    Debbie

  3. Hah, I will absolutely love it if in a few weeks’ time you post a pic of him sat nicely in the chair eating away! I tried to torment my cat with bubbles (that I went out and bought especially for him) but he couldn’t have cared less!! x

    • You never know; we might just make some impressive progress over the summer. Maybe we’ll even get him to set the table for dinner… 😂

Oh, come on! What kind of ungrateful pet wouldn’t love bubbles? 😝🤣

  4. Oooh how I long for those 6 week summer holidays when I was a kid. Outside on my bike all day then indoors if weather was a bit off to make a ShakerMaker. One time Wilma Flinstone’s head rolled off when I took her form out of the oven. Did you have those?

    • Ah! I’ve always loved summer break. It’s nice to not have to go, go, go at such a crazy pace for a few weeks.😁

No, I never had a ShakerMaker…but I’m chuckling at the thought of Wilma Flinstone’s head rolling off. 😂

  5. Ah the kids nowadays huh. But a day of being bored with nothing really to do sure beats a day of working in an office for 8 hours. The life a kid. One day they’ll realize they had it made. Good luck with the rest of the summer.

  6. Well, we’ve been in triple digits for the past two weeks straight! I don’t know how great that is. Oh well, at least my boss tolerates me wearing my ever-infamous “Davy” Dukes to the office.

My poor Aphrodite probably can relate to Jett right now.

      • Oh no. And to think I’ll be out in it next weekend – IndyCar at Texas Motor Speedway. Triple digits forecast plus the sun beaming back off the asphalt. Going to need a gallon of sunscreen and if anyone dares question my lower half wear in that heat I might just flip out. It’s too hot for anything else.

      • Oh, my. Tempers do tend to flair the higher those temperatures climb. 😣

But hopefully it’ll cool off a bit next weekend so you can enjoy your outing!

  7. He ate Jett’s biscuit? Yikes, it’s gonna be a long summer. We knew better than to complain to my mom about boredom… if we couldn’t entertain ourselves, she would FIND something for us to do, like dust or weed the garden. 🙂

    • Hahaha! No, he did not actually eat Jett’s biscuit. This time around, anyway. 😛

I agree; there’s always something to be done around the house if the kids are truly that bored. But it’s so much more enjoyable to listen to them whine and bicker… Or not.
