4 Better or 4 Worse

Where does the time go?

Today marks Comically Quirky’s 4th anniversary!

Which is certainly reason to celebrate.

But I’m not going to lie-

This has been one of the most challenging years of my entire life.

And unfortunately, my writing has suffered immensely for it.

The frustrating disparity of needing to write for clarity and peace…

But lacking the clarity and peace to write…

It’s not a pretty cycle.

Thoughts and ideas constantly swirl around in my mind…

Yet refuse to come together to form anything remotely eloquent or coherent.

Let alone witty and humorous.

It’s aggravating.

And disheartening.

Especially when the words always used to flow so easily.

Somewhere along the way, this blog unexpectedly transitioned to a full-scale Dog Blog.

And so my gratitude goes out to The Bigly Bestest Doggie for single-handedly (or would that be single-pawedly?) keeping Comically Quirky afloat in the interim as I strive to get back on track.

But I’m especially grateful to all of you for sticking with me.

You’re the best.

I will get back on track…

One of these days.

And that is a promise.

~Thank you all for sticking with me and cheering on The Bigly Bestest Doggie as he’s temporarily taken center stage on Comically Quirky. If you’re feeling adventurous and need some quirky humor to brighten your day, I invite you to check out my very first post, The Journey to No Man’s Land. For anyone who might be dealing with tough times and feeling like they’re endlessly treading water just to stay afloat- Hang in there. Things will get better. Always have faith that no matter how fierce the storm, the sun will one day shine again.~

  1. Congratulations on the four years.
I know how this is I mean writing for peace and calm, and the words won’t justify it. Somehow I still believe that it will all fall back in place!
Hope words flow through you soon, with ease and wonder.

  2. Congrats on 4. I’m also struggling to get stuff on my blog, but possibly that’s just because I’m lazy lately. Hope your life takes a turn for the better and The Unvierse provides good things for you and yours.

  3. Congrats firstly on the anniversary. Don’t be too hard on yourself. We all go through periods of writer’s block and struggle with ideas. I’m blogging less than I ever have too. You’ll get your mojo back and in the meantime your bestest doggie is doing a brilliant job. Tell him he’s very entertaining and always makes me smile. You’re both legends in my book. xx 😊

    • Aww, thank you, Miriam. Appreciate your kind words and support. Jett is seemingly content running this blog on his own for the moment, and he is honored that you think he is doing a brilliant job. 😀

You and Harry are legends in our book, too! ❤

  4. Happy Anniversary …. you and Tink were very close, it’s part of your grieving process!

Sorry I haven’t been loyal, I love dogs but not that much 🙂

Would love to read your comical posts again and it will return in time. You have to give yourself permission to laugh again … it’s ok ❤

  5. Congratulations! Don’t fret about not being eloquent or coherent. Having a dog blog is fine. I’ve been in the same boat as you. Words used to come easy whenever I wanted to write my posts but now I’ve hit a drought hence my Musings and Mottos that I’ve been posting frequently. Give it time. Words will flow again, just be who you are and keep doing what you’re doing. We’ll always be there to read your posts!

  6. Happy Blog Birthday! I will also be sticking around. The Bigly Bestest Doggie has done a very good job of holding the fort for you and I look forward to whoever shows up. Hope life aligns itself better to give you the clarity and peace you desire. 😉

    • Thank you! Yes, The Bigly Bestest is doing a commendable job of keeping this blog going. Plus, I think he secretly likes the fact that he is The Star of Comically Quirky at the moment. Quirky Girl just types the words, but Jett does all the hard work. 😛

  7. Happy Blog anniversary, QG! Has Jett been with you the whole 4 years? If so, I hope you give that cutie pie extra doggie treats! I totally understand why this has been a difficult year for you. I’m just glad you didn’t disappear. I always look forward to your posts — no matter what they are or what they’re about! Cheers to another 4 more years, my friend — to the good, the bad, the hard and the biggliest, bestest! Hugs, Mona

  9. Happy 4th Blogversary. You know how much I love Jett and I have enjoyed so much sharing his happy days. Taking the time you need is being kind and good to yourself, that is the way to deal with difficult times. Hugging Jett is also very good for the soul.

  10. Yes, yes, yes!! Times will get better––and I so acknowledge you for hanging in there. You are courageous and full of beauty (I see so many amazing qualities in you, those are just a few 🙂 .)

To me, you are doing amazing with your blog. I love that you show up authentically you, however that looks. And, I fully support you in taking the time that you need to heal. Your doggie is a great topic!

I just wrote on Facebook in response to a friend who asked me to share about my mom’s murder….how I was on a couch crying and so angry at the person who did it. I eventually was able to choose love, to forgive the judgments (no matter how hard it felt), and to set myself free inside.

Anyway that’s an awe-producing experience, to forgive the person who murdered my mom. What was even more powerful is to let go of the judgment inside that he was wrong, or that I needed vindication.

Is this too much information? I share it because I enjoy you so much, and my strong invitation is to let go of whatever you need to in order to heal. YOU are deserving of it.

In the meantime, this blog is incredible exactly as it is.

    All the best,
    Debbie

I’ve been meaning to ask you … did you at one time run a blog challenge?

    • Thank you! Jett is always more than happy to entertain with his epic daily adventures. 😛

No, blog challenges were never really my cup of tea. I did, however, write humorous weekly Friday posts based on everyday life, in addition to my current Tails ‘n’ Tweets with Jett.

      • Okay, thanks! It’s just that you remind me so much of another blogger that did have a weekly challenge. I can’t remember the name of it, and can’t seem to find the posts I did for this either. Funny how it goes sometimes.
I do remember reading your fun posts in the past. Always made me smile. 🙂
Wishing you and your family and Jett a wonderful weekend!

    • Jett is a very good boy… and an excellent source of comfort. He helps with blog ideas while always being right by my side whenever I need him. I couldn’t ask for a more amazing doggie ❤

Grief does indeed have a way of derailing, but I have faith that, in time, the sheer necessity and desire to write will prevail. 🙂

  15. Congratulations on the anniversary!
I too, struggle with the paradox of wanting to tell stories that I really can’t share.
Thank you for the link to your original blog and I will visit there later. When things seem to not be going as planned, just remember that a good dog makes an ordinary life extraordinary.
    Regards,
